Maria Montessori with a student

"The greatest of the human personality begins at the hour of birth, so education must start from birth."

"The education of a very small child does not aim at preparing him for school but for life."

"Education is not something which a teacher does, but it is a natural process which develops spontaneously in human beings. The first thing a child’s education demands is the provision of an environment in which he can develop the powers given him by nature."

"The secret of good teaching is to regard the child’s intelligence as a fertile field in which seeds may be sown, to grow under the heat of flaming imagination."

- Maria Montessori

This div will be replaced by the JW Player.

Sunrise Montessori Preschool was started in 1980. Anne Binder, President and Director, has been with Sunrise Montessori since 1985. Anne Binder purchased Sunrise Montessori in 1992. As the mother of two daughters, Anne understands the importance and value of finding a program that provides a warm and loving environment for the child and a sense of security and peace of mind for the parent. At Sunrise Montessori Preschool the staff will provide such an environment for you and your child.

Our school serves the communities of Roseville, Citrus Heights, Fair Oaks, Antelope, Orangevale, Granite Bay, Rocklin, Lincoln, Loomis, Penryn and Sacramento. Our rich programs include preschool, daycare, kindergarten and summer camp.

School Philosophy

Our Philosophy is based on love and respect for each child. We understand and accept that each child is a special and unique individual and a beautiful gift entrusted into our care. Our warm and loving school environment provides each child with the love and joy of learning and allows and encourages each child to realize their fullest potential in all areas of life. We believe that this is child care at its finest.

Mission Statement

We are professional educators working together to provide a warm, loving, and nurturing environment for children. We share a vision of peace, both inner and in the classroom environment. We work to achieve that peace through our own daily experiences and through the skills we are developing ourselves. We strive to meet the needs of each individual child. Children need to feel loved and cared for with respect. By providing this and an environment conducive to learning, children will become loving, compassionate, respectful human beings with a desire and love for learning and towards one another.

In the tradition of Dr. Maria Montessori, our school is committed to providing the finest in early childhood education. Our goal is that each child attending our school will develop the following assets:

  • Independence
  • Self direction
  • Self acceptance
  • Feelings of membership and responsibility in a social group
  • Interest and joy in learning and living
